Having starred in three famous franchises, Keanu Reeves is one of Hollywood’s most adored actors. John Wick, one of his most famous Keanu Reeves characters, is getting a fifth movie, even though John Wick: Chapter 4 makes it seem like John perished.

On April 1, Lionsgate revealed the thrilling news that Keanu Reeves iconic hitman would be making a comeback at CinemaCon, the cinema owners’ convention. This raises the query: Is this a joke about April Fools’ Day?
According to Deadline, Keanu Reeves will don his trademark black suit once more, and franchise director Chad Stahelski will serve as both director and producer, despite the chance that we are all being mocked. Erica Lee and Basil Iwanyk, producers of Thunder Road, will also be back to work as producers.

That’s not all, though. Additionally, they revealed a spin-off and animated adaptation of Donnie Yen’s Caine character.

The fourth movie introduces the blind assassin, who was coerced out of retirement by the High Table to assassinate John Wick by threatening the safety of his daughter.
The conclusion of the fourth film
If franchises have taught us anything, it’s that characters who die may always return. For instance, Fast & Furious. Following his duel with Caine in John Wick: Chapter 4, John Wick appears to have given up due to his injuries when he collapses on the stairs.
Then, at his grave, which is engraved John Wick – Loving Husband, we see Winston and the Bowery King. Although it appears to be quite final, the film never specifically depicts his dying or being buried.

The success of John Wick
In Ballerina, the spin-off featuring Ana de Armas as a fellow assassin seeking retribution, Reeves is also reprising his role as John Wick. The movie, which has Reeves in a supporting role, takes place between Chapters 3 and 4. The film, which is currently under post-production, will be released on June 6, 2025.

It makes financial sense to make a fifth movie. Released on March 24, 2023, John Wick: Chapter 4 brought in over $440 million globally, extending the franchise’s remarkable run of each movie surpassing the previous one. The series has now made over $1 billion at the box office worldwide.
However, Reeves didn’t seem particularly prepared to play the part again in January. He responded to a question concerning John Wick’s future on CBS News while promoting Sonic the Hedgehog 3 by saying, “You can never say never.” “My knees right now are saying, ‘I can’t do another John Wick,” he said.
Since John Wick 5 isn’t yet on Reeves’ IMDb, there’s always a potential that we’ll be pranked until April 2.
